Lila Shaw Lash was born and raised in Austin, Texas. Growing up in a family of foodies, meals and the community that was created around food was central to many bright memories with her family and friends. She took off to travel and cook in her mid-twenties and hasn't turned back.Her travels over the last few years have taken her to Brazil, Peru, Northern California, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, and finally, Mexico, where San Miguel de Allende stole her heart... and her stomach! Mexico reawakened her culinary aspirations, thus, The Dinner Goddess was born.
In San Miguel, she immediately noticed that the restaurant offerings could be a bit limiting for true foodies, but the raw ingredients were abundant-- great organics, tantalizing local treasures, and lots of folks that appreciated a nice meal to share with friends. This could be something that was ever-changing, something to savor or to save. The Dinner Goddess offerings have grown from there. She has now diversified into more traditional catering services, with options available for any budget or event.
The bottom line continues to be that The Dinner Goddess has given Lila the chance to share her food with tremendous amounts of love and individual care. As the business has grown, Lila now offers more extensive catering services, personal chef services and custom ordering options.When she's not creating in the kitchen, she loves to practice yoga, read, work on her monthly column, and dream about her next mainland Mexico surf trip.
Lila makes her home in San Miguel de Allende, is a monthly columnist and assistant editor for Atencion San Miguel, and the culinary power behind The Dinner Goddess.
